AESSEAL plc were announced as winners of the special category for Sustainability at the North of England Excellence Awards ceremony held in Manchester.
The Special Award for Sustainability was presented by Richard Else, Operations Director of Jaguar Land Rover, to AESSEAL’s Sustainability Officer, Simon Sheaf at the ceremony. The Award recognises how organisations strive for economic, social, and ecological sustainability.
Established in 1995, the North of England Excellence Awards is a non-profit organisation, and works in partnership with the British Quality Foundation (BQF) and the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM). Its purpose is to help organisations achieve their strategic vision and enhance business performance by inspiring, supporting and recognising excellence.
David Teale, Chief Executive of North of England Excellence, said:
The 2013 awards have once again revealed some outstanding examples of best practice in business. These are organisations which are pursuing world-class levels of performance. No doubt they will use the feedback from assessors which they have gained from taking part in the awards to raise their game even higher.
Recognition by the North of England Excellence Awards helps validate the principles and strategies of AESSEAL®. Sustainability has been embedded into the culture of the business throughout its history both in terms of its products and its operations. The company has held certification to ISO 14001 for over 10 years and more recently gained certification to ISO 50001 for its energy management system.
The award follows similar success for AESSEAL®, when earlier in the year they achieved platinum status in the Business in the Community, Environment Index and Gold status in the Corporate Responsibility (CR) Index.
