On Wednesday, 20th November 2024, North Star STEAM workshops welcomed over 500 young people to Gulliver’s Valley in Rotherham, sponsored by AESSEAL for the fifth consecutive year.

The highlight of this year’s event was the inspiring talk by Professor Brian Cox, who captivated students with the wonders of the universe. His presence energised the event, which is part of the Science School’s initiative co-founded in 2012 by Professor Cox CBE and Lord Andrew Mawson OBE. This program strives to make the UK a global leader in science and engineering.

AESSEAL’s contribution went beyond sponsorship by hosting an interactive mechanical seal-building workshop. Students competed to assemble seals in record time, blending hands-on learning with a sense of excitement and friendly competition. The workshop provided a glimpse into the practical, rewarding, and fun aspects of engineering, leaving a lasting impression on all who participated.
