AESSEAL® is proud to announce that the company has been awarded a Queen's Award for Enterprise: Innovation 2016.
Founder and Group Managing Director, Chris Rea, OBE, DL, said:
AES Engineering and its subsidiary AESSEAL have previously won 12 Queen’s Awards since 1988. We have had the honour and privilege of being able to fly the flag and use the Queen’s Award emblem in our marketing. This latest award is very timely, as it gives AESSEAL another 5 years to be associated with the most prestigious business award, that is available in the United Kingdom.
Chris Rea (Pictured left) & Stephen Shaw (Right) were joined by Rotherham Utd Chairman - Tony Stewart (Centre), who helped celebrate the award by raising the Queen's Award flag at the Rotherham AESSEAL Global Headquarters.
The Rotherham United Chairman, Tony Stewart said:
It was a great honour to be involved in the ceremony which sees our partners at AESSEAL maintain their esteemed association with the Queens Award, This is one of the highest accolades that a business can be presented with and it comes as no surprise that Chris and his staff have once again received recognition for their ingenuity in the field.
The award for Innovation is in recognition of the development of a novel modular approach with standardized components, to deliver a step change in the supply chain for seal support systems. Mechanical seal support systems traditionally have been individually designed to meet the required specification, resulting in long delivery times inconsistent with the delivery times for the seals themselves. The AESSEAL® modular approach allows complex systems to be quickly and easily assembled ensuring delivery times are much more in line with those of mechanical seals.
AESSEAL® is the world’s fourth-largest designer and manufacturer of mechanical seals and seal support systems for a wide range of industries, including oil and gas, food, water, mining and pharmaceuticals. The company employs more than 1,650 people worldwide, of whom approximately 680 are in the UK and Ireland and more than 350 in Rotherham, home to its Global Technology Centre HQ.
Stephen Shaw, Group Engineering Director, said:
These developments have revolutionised our ability to supply complex seal support systems, providing the level of customer service that our customers have grown to expect from AESSEAL."
