SINCE 2008, fundraisers across the region have raised more than £1 million for good causes through the Master Cutler’s Challenge to bring in as much money as possible from £50. Originally posted on the Rotherham Advertiser, here is the latest from AESSEAL's Efforts this year.
Taking on Master Cutler’s Challenge for Bluebell Wood

WE ARE two months into this year’s Master Cutler’s Challenge to raise funds for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice — and we’re determined to make it our biggest and best ever.
This is our seventh year of taking up the challenge after one of our directors, former Master Cutler Gordon Bridge, first engaged with businesses to come together and take part in the challenge to raise much needed funds for charities.
We always approach it with a huge amount of passion and drive but this year we’re all going the extra mile for Bluebell Wood.
The hospice provides amazing care for children and young adults with life-shortening or life-threatening conditions, as well as invaluable support to their families, both at home and at the hospice in North Anston.
Colleagues joined families and staff at the launch of this year’s challenge and were deeply touched by the sad but inspiring story of Elsa, who lost her life to an incurable neuromuscular condition and who spent her final days with her family at Bluebell Wood.
Elsa’s dad Gareth shared how the care and support the family received helped them to cope with their devastating loss and provided precious memories of their little girl.
Hearing about the incredible work that Bluebell Wood does on a daily basis has driven us to raise as much money as possible — and we’re hoping big-hearted readers will show us their support.
We’ve already held a host of fundraising events across our UK branches, from “chocolate explosions” to dress-down Fridays and an ongoing book sale.
The AESSEAL “AESTER Challenge” got workmates working out riddles to identify locations throughout our global headquarters then solving an anagram to win an Easter egg the size of their head! winner, Brad Sowerby.
We’ve got lots of other events planned for the coming months — and we’d love you to help us support the very special work of Bluebell Wood.

AESSEAL using World Cup to help Master Cutler efforts

Cakes, pub quizzes and World Cup forecasts are just some of the latest money-spinning ideas that AESSEAL has come up with in our Master Cutler’s Challenge to raise funds for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
There are some fantastic prizes to be snapped up by people supporting our efforts for this year’s very special nominated charity, including tickets to the UK tour of legendary ska group Madness, supported by the Fratellis.
It’s hard to believe that we’re already four months into the challenge and at AESSEAL we are deep in the midst of our fundraising activities to raise as much money as possible for Bluebell Wood, which provides care to children and young adults with life-shortening or life-threatening conditions, as well as invaluable support to their families.
On May 14, employees came together to bake delicious cakes and savoury treats when we hosted a bake sale at our global headquarters.
These were then sold over a couple of days and it’s safe to say everyone had their fair share of the baked goodies!
We’ve also kicked-started our World Cup score predictor game, with some amazing prizes up for grabs.
As well as two guest list passes for the Madness tour in December at a venue of your choice, you could win a custom-made oakwood coffee table worth £360 from Fretwells Urban Living or a £100 power tools voucher donated by Helix Tools.
On June 4 we hosted a pub quiz at the Riverside pub in Rotherham to raise money for the challenge.
It was a fantastic evening, which brought together various departments from AESSEAL.
June is a busy month for our fundraising events. Our spirits are high and we’re eager to raise as much money as possible for Bluebell Wood and to make sure everyone that supports us has a great time!
We greatly appreciate any help which you can give to support the extraordinary of Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice.
